Commandery

A commandery is a land establishment belonging to a religious and military [URL=/help/org?type=morder]order[/URL]. Placed under the responsibility of commanders, they are the place of life and formation of communities of brothers, knights and affiliates. Although most often rural, commanderies can also be urban and even harbor, when the knights obtain the monopoly or privileges of trade, or transport of pilgrims. In the [I]lands of battle[/I] (Holy Lands), commanderies are fortifications or fortified rural estates.
